The mission of Lake Brownwood Christian retreat is to be a Sanctuary for spiritual growth, personal developement, training and service in a natural setting and atmosphere.
The LBCR Maintenance Department is in the beginning stages of remodeling one our oldest lodges which is also referred to as “Bethany Lodge.” The purpose of the project is to can add 48 additional beds to meet the demands of our growing guest groups. The scope of the project includes repairing the ceiling, repairing plumbing, updating restroom fixtures, adding two new air conditioning units.
Donors have pledged to replace the buildings two air conditioning units with two brand new 5-ton energy efficient units which will help us off-set the cost of the remodel. The LBCR maintenance department will examine and replace the current ducting system.
In order to make the building comfortable for our guests, especially during the summer months, the most immediate need identified for this project is to replace the roof. The current roof is almost 50-years old and too many holes for us to properly patch. The LBCR Board of Directors recognizes this need and is in the beginning process of raising funds for the replacement of the roof.
The cost of replacing the roof will cost $9,732 and will include removal of the existing U-panels, clean up and haul off debris, over existing lath boards, installing new Galvalume U-Panels with matching rake and ridge trim, installation of new new master flashings over plumbing vent penetrations.
LBCR has been in Ministry for over 70 years and is grateful for the support of local Foundations and donors to help us continue our Ministry.
