Our mission is to provide leadership and support for hope, recovery, and mental wellness for all. Our purpose is to improve the lives of people with mental health concerns through the use of peer support, advocacy, educational forums, and outreach.
We offer a variety of free peer-led mental health support groups, one-on-one peer support, information and referral to community resources, life skill classes, Youth Mental Health First Aid, employment of mental health consumers, online database of area mental health services/support groups, speaking at gatherings/meetings/in classrooms, art and social activities, advocacy, forums/symposiums, support group for survivors of suicide loss, education/outreach, partnerships with other agencies, serve as members of task forces/coalitions, facilitate Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) groups, and more! Minimally funded by grants and contracts, we are in need of extra funds to operate and run programs. Every dollar helps! Thank you for giving!
We have several funding needs at this time. 1) Structural support through funding administrative support in the office for organizational and programmatic efficiency. Currently we have a full time director and a part time peer support specialist on staff with several staff that only work an hour or two per week. 2) Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) staff and program supplies costs. We know firsthand that if someone is willing to participate in their recovery, is given peer support and taught how to develop their own WRAP they can become healthier, gain more stability and live a better life. WRAP is a 12-week program that teaches a wide range of people, including those with severe mental illness, crucial coping skills to manage and thrive despite and/or beyond major life challenges. Through a personalized step-by-step action plan, WRAP empowers people in their recovery who can then empower other people to create a better, healthier life for themselves.
