"Assisting Victims and Survivors of Sexual Assault and Other Violence; Working to Prevent Sexual Assault and Other Violence through Primary Prevention”
RVCC continues as we have for 40 years in Abilene, with professional staff and dozens of trained volunteer advocates, assisting child and adult victims of sexual assault and other violent crimes. Services include a 24/7 crisis hotline, counseling, advocacy, court/medical/law enforcement accompaniment, help with filing for Crime Victim Compensation, referral to community resources and other advocacy services. Our Violence Prevention programs provide evidence-based programs using age appropriate curricula for tens of thousands of students in local schools, and trainings for professionals and the community. This agency has provided direct services to child and adult victims in Abilene and Taylor County since 1977.
In our current annual plan to continue in capacity building efforts, the primary needs for our organization are for additional program personnel and expanded office space; following are general operating support for those new positions including training, computer equipment and general office and program supplies. RVCC must continue to bring more awareness, provide help, hope and healing to victimized adults, children and families and work to prevent violence in our community. We are currently working at full capacity.
