Big Country Wildlife Rehabilitation Center was formed to provide a legal facility to care for the native wildlife within our communities. Our goal is to release every animal back in the wild as nature intended. After all, it is our wildlife that helps maintain a healthy ecosystem for all living things.
Our goal is to help the community learn how to coexist safely with our urban wildlife. We provide educational and community outreach activities promoting the welfare of our wildlife.
Since forming we have implemented and maintained an in-state disaster intervention program which responds to ecological disasters involving our wildlife in the state of Texas. Three years ago, during the Mesquite Heat Fire in Taylor County, we rescued many wild mammals suffering burns and smoke inhalation.
Community help allows us to continue wildlife rescue, community outreach, and educational programs. This allows our community to learn the important role of wildlife in our environment. With the loss of their habitat increasing, it is vital for the health and sustainability of our world that we all learn to coexist safely together for future generations to come.
This year we are raising money to help fund one large enclosure for our large mammals, including bobcats. Thank you for stopping by and we look forward to conserving our native wildlife with you. We cannot do this without our amazing community.
